Week 1 - Ultralearning
Hey Friend,
I’ve been cultivating my reading habit lately, and I have a goal to read 52 books this year: to help retain that knowledge (and hopefully turn it into wisdom), I’ve started using a template to summarize what I learn, and to retain the most important parts of the book.
On an unrelated note, as an analyst (and millennial) I’m spending 40+ hours a week on my computer, and I feel like I discover really cool stuff all the time that I enjoy sharing with my friends.
Do you want to receive short summaries and concise lists of the important points from the books I read this year (< 5 min read)? Do you want links to the cool stuff I find (e.g. music, podcasts, videos, recipes, articles, quotes, art, etc.)?
Here is a link to my first summary of the year (Ultralearning by Scott H Young):

Here is a link to the books I’m planning to read:
I care about your mental bandwidth and will only send you things I find especially interesting and valuable. There could be five things one week along with the book summary, and none the next.
If this sounds like something that would add value to your life, I invite you to fill out this form (5 easy questions):
My intention is to send you emails that give you that excited feeling in your stomach whenever you see them in your inbox, and I invite feedback on how anything I send you could make that more likely!
If you know someone who might benefit from having these things in their life, I would be honored if you’d share this email with them.
Blessings,
Thomas Mulhern
P.S. Here are some tasty links to kick off the year (the music is best through headphones):
Music - 136.1hz Sun Salutation - Maneesh De Moor
Music - The Dance And The Wonder (Mose Remix) - Sam Garrett
App (paid) - Moon Sun Fire - Meditation and yoga practice with Octavio Salvado.
Podcast - The Science of Making & Breaking Habits - Dr. Andrew Huberman (Professor at Stanford) on the neuroscience of habits.
Lecture - The Path of the Heart - Ram Dass on being Love, and the traps we face; probably the single most impactful thing I listened to in 2021.
