Week 4 - Atomic Habits
Hey!
This was a big week.
I’m as excited to share my progress as I am to share this week’s book analysis and links (which is saying something because I LOVE Atomic Habits)!
The analysis this week is a bit longer than usual (probably a 7 min read instead of a 5 min read) because I have almost a page of juicy quotes that stood out to me; if you haven’t read Atomic Habits, I hope my analysis will inspire you to read it for yourself, and if you have read it, I hope the analysis will be as powerful a refresher for you as rereading the book was for me.
I’ve also provided links to a dashboard that I feel really good about, and will keep updated to show my progress towards my goals this year, as well as a link to the plan for my first big ultralearning project. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, I would love to hear them.
Thank you for your time and mental bandwidth. If there is anything you feel I can do to be more judicious with it, please let me know :)
Blessings,
-T
This Week’s Book

Atomic Habits by James Clear
The Book In One Sentence - James Clear shares processes, explanations, and examples for how to create new habits (and eliminate old habits), and shows why it is important to assess our successes and failures from the perspective of our habit systems rather than from our goals and outcomes.

Updates
I created a dashboard for tracking the lead measures that move me towards my Wildly Important Goals this year (Discipline 3 from The 4 Disciplines Of Execution) and I’d love feedback and/or to talk with anyone who wants to set up their own dashboards (#3 and #6 from Show Your Work!); it is the first iteration and ultimately I plan to use a more powerful visualization system than Google Sheets charts.
It will be the foundation for tracking my progress this year, and I will keep it updated on at least a weekly basis:

I created a plan for my first major ultralearning project, which is related to the dashboard above. Put simply, I’m going to learn a programming language and app framework that will allow me to build an MVP of a mobile app:
