Week 7 - The Compound Effect
Hey!
Another week in the books.
Thank you for being on this journey with me. Thank you to everyone who has reached out about a link they liked or a book they decided to read because of these emails. I'm grateful for the time and space to create things that other people can connect with.
If you have a link or a book that you really like, feel free to send it my way!
Blessings,
-T

Updates
An update from last week's announcement: I got a job in sales.
I have no formal experience in sales; every day on the job, I'm forced to confront self-limiting beliefs and to unpack a lifetime of mental and somatic conditioning that I didn't realize I was carrying around with me until it got exposed. The ROI has already been incredible; every day has felt like a year of psychological expansion.
Sales as a basket of skills is something I'd been thinking about learning for a bit, so when this opportunity came along I felt like a sign from the universe. Below I've linked to the ultralearning plan I'm working on; I plan to learn as much as I can while I'm in a place where I can field test ideas.

Podcast (~2:26:00)- The Tim Ferriss Show: Patrick Collison - My favorite Tim Ferriss podcast; Patrick Collsion is the founder of Stripe.
Blog Post (7 min) - Vitalik Buterin: Soulbound - An article from the founder of Ethereum’s blog about bringing the idea of spellbound items from World Of Warcraft into the crypto space (i.e. items that are not transferrable and can only be owned by one person)
Music (~1:04:00) - Estas Tonne: Internal Flight - Estas Tonne is a Ukrainian street guitarist and musician; on this track/album (tralbum?) he plays continuously for over an hour. I get chills when I listen to it.
Music (~8:30)- Huun Huur Tu: Saryglarlar - Beautiful Tuvan throat singing.
Step 1: Put on head phones
Step 2: Close eyes
Step 3: Bask
Lecture (~2:00:00)- Ram Dass: Beyond Success - An interesting counterbalance to this week's book talking about the limitations of pursuing success as a primary goal in life. Among many things, Ram Dass talks about how people who use Doing as the only tool to escape their problems often ultimately find themselves in a position where the Doing BECOMES their problem, so they try to Do more to get out of it and create a feedback loop of suffering playing an unwinnable game.
